What every woman should be listening to > podcasts for and by women!

Podcasts are a great way to listen and learn when you are a captive audience like driving to work, working out, or cleaning! Because it is Women’s History Month, we are sharing podcasts that are created for and by women. These shows are a great way to learn about and from the amazing women in the world. The content of these podcasts range from advice for budding entrepreneurs to how to survive the dating world during a pandemic - whatever your need, there is a podcast for you. Here are some of our favorites for women and by women:

Encyclopedia Womannica

You know that medical journals until the 21st century had very little information on women’s health and certainly, no drawings or detailed diagrams, it was just too taboo! The same is true of history books, so many have been written by men and therefore, much of what is written is about men, leaving the accomplishments of women undiscovered by the masses. Trying to cure that is Encyclopedia Wommanic! This podcast highlights women in history and their contributions to the world. Spend five minutes in the car and learn about a woman who changed history. Not only will you feel smarter, but you will likely be inspired to go out and create your own history!

Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations

This podcast is hosted by Oprah herself taking us back to her days on television. Her focus for this podcast is more about living one’s best life so her and her guests: whistleblowers, Oscar-winners, professional athletes, etcetera share pathways to fulfilling oneself physically and mentally. These conversations on fulfillment, gratitude, and kindness are sure to provoke thoughtful conversations with your girlfriends and boyfriends, as well as encourage you to take a leap towards whatever makes you happy.

Women at Work

Harvard Business Review has produced a podcast just for women. They discuss difficulties that women in business and in the corporate world commonly face. Best of all, they provide tips and advice for handling those difficulties and how to propel yourself up the ladder and through the glass ceiling.

From networking, handling money woes, to fighting imposter syndrome, and even “when to go fly a kite,” the show delves out food for thought on how to create the business and the life that you have always wanted.

HerMoney with Jean Chatzky

Women often have unique financial challenges. Many are finding themselves divorced and alone without a lot of financial knowledge. Whether you are financially savvy, or starting over in life as a novice at 50 years old, Jean Chatzky has straightforward, sound advice for one and all given with a dose of humor to help listeners swallow bitter pills. Her podcast addresses issues of paying for a child’s college to choosing a financial partner, to the inside scoop on ‘short selling.’

Being Boss

This one is great for any woman thinking about starting their own creative business or side-hustle. From time management, to diversity inclusion, to habits of successful CEO’s, this podcast gives the 411 on how to make your own creative way.

Unladylike

Here is a fun one that isn’t for the faint at heart. Like the name implies, this podcast talks about everything your mom told you not to talk about (or that you figured out on your own that you shouldn’t talk about). But, it isn’t all taboo! The hosts also delve into the expectations that are often imposed on women whether spoken or implied and help dispel the myths behind what women think is expected of them. If you want to hear stories that others aren’t talking about, this is the podcast for you.

Podcasts are a great way to make your daily commutes, your yard work, and your dog walk productive and entertaining. Check out these and others to get a dose of history, business acumen, and everything in between.
